Every spring I get all excited about a garden, then by July I always kind of get lazy. Hopefully this year that wont happen. So this is a little update.

These are the first planting of peas and they look great at about 18 inches high at their tallest.

This is the comcast cable I nicked while digging. Really I was only about 3-4 inches deep. They had a guy come and try to splice it, but he decided that it needed replaced after he dug around a bit.

This is the lettuce that Kit and I planted. You can tell I had a bit of help in the top left. I think they could use some thinning.

This is the row for the asparagus. I thought it turned out fairly straight and it took less than 30 minutes for me to dig last night. Today I got some top soil and some fertilizer to put in it so I will plant it this evening. I know you don't get a great yield from asparagus, but I thought it would be fun to have and I wont have to plant it again. I love it.

I am still waiting Comcast to come and locate my line so I figured I would give them until early next week, but them I am going to just dig. I guess if I ruin the line they will get here faster.

Tulips

t I just love Kit Kat's facial expressions
Sinclaire loved the tulips especially the pink ones. So we had to bring some inside and of course get a picture with them. They were quite pretty, tulips are one of my favorite flowers. I also love gerber daisies and I need to get some to plant outside so I can see them all summer.

Tea Party

My friend's daughter has the same birthday as mine so we went and had a little tea party. The girls thought is was so fun to dress up in dress ups and eat tiny sandwiches off of play dishes and have pretty pink cupcakes. Thanks for the great party Juli.

Seriously

Anyone who know me knows how much I get annoyed at inefficiency. Well yesterday Comcast came out to inspect a cable that I hit while digging the garden. So when they were leaving they kindly told me that I needed to call and also get someone to come and locate the line and where it went. I asked they why they didn't just do that while they were here instead of driving back tomorrow to do it. They said they didn't have a ticket for it. It just drives me crazy.

Oh the great pretender

On Sunday nights on our way home from Grandma's Sam and I always hope that our children fall asleep. Usually we can count on Tiny for sure, and most of the time Kit, but only on the rare occasion does Sinclaire zonk. But as of late she as been pretending to fall asleep. We look back and see her eyes closed and a half smile on her face and know she is "asleep". So we just take her up to her bed and lay her down and that is it. I hope it lasts for a long time because as soon as she figures out that she is missing out on her story and song because of her pretending she will surely stop. Bedtime sure is a lot easier when it happens though.

A bonus

Last Monday I had to take this cute little guy and get a blood draw. He just wasn't clearing up like he should. Well yesterday we got the results. He is still allergic to milk, eggs, soy, and peanut with the added bonus of almonds, cashews, oats, and borderline wheat. I thought it was bad before, but now I can't even feed him Cheerios. I guess a lot of rice and beans will be the fan fair here. Anyone for dinner?

Sleeping Beauty

These tights might be my favorite.

This is how I find Kit Kat lots of times. She is such a good sleeper and we can see from above she can sleep anywhere. I was noticing the wonderful outfits she was wearing in three of the photos. Just know that she loves to dress herself and if she is going to do it and we aren't going anywhere I will let her.

Turning 30

I know everybody turns 30, but yesterday was the day. I woke up and it had happened. It was kind of funny because I turned 30 at like 2 in the morning, but around 4 I woke up and had trouble sleeping for the next hour and a half. I think I was just so worried about what this next decade would bring. I hope it is all good stuff. By the time I am 40 I will have a 14 year old, a 12 year old, and an 11 year old. And maybe some more. That is crazy to think about.

My little people wrapped my presents in the top picture and there they are in the second. My favorite might be the swimming guy. I wanted an olive oil sprayer and of course 2 spatulas. The third picture is of the cake I got to eat. It is dairy and egg free with ganache on top. It tasted like a brownie. It was so yummy. I ate it again for breakfast. (Don't tell my girls, I wouldn't let them.)
Then scouts were cancelled at the last minute so we all went for a walk and watered the garden and blackberries. It was nice to have some extra time with the family. It was a great birthday.
