The ground cherry

This little fruit, for those who do not know is a ground cherry. It looks like a miniature tomato, but is a tad bit sweet. I had these when I was little and then about two summers ago someone shared them with me and I knew I had to grow some of my own. Well this year the ladies from church were ordering seeds and someone had it on their list and I was lucky enough to see it and get some too. I gave three people started seeds and only one out of the nine I gave out made it, so they have been a bit of trouble. But this is the first little fruit to fall and we split it three ways. It was as good as I remember and I am so glad my plants made it.
