Hello, anyone there?

Has anyone had a similar experience?? I had never had one until yesterday.

I went to Target that I was not familiar with and I finally found a little worker lady.

I asked, "Do you know where I could find lighters, you know the long ones?"

Lady said as she points, "Um, um I know we have matches over by the charcoal."

So I look where she points and then turn back and say, "I need a lighter."

Lady then points to some regular Bic lighters and says, "We have Bic ones right there."

So I look and say, "Yes, but I need a long one."

Lady throws her arms in the air and says, "I don't know where they are, I just don't know where they are," as she backs away from me.

I walked away dumbfounded at what had just transpired. Who acts like that. All I wanted was pointed in the right direction.

Mandy,

What you describe sounds like the sort of person I deal with on a daily basis in my job. Someone who has some mental issues. They can't handle stress whatsoever, they get disproportianately upset about the situation at hand and often respond illogically to a logical situation. In other words, she's mentally unstable, or crazy! My guess is she hasn't worked at target long (not because she doesn't know where the matches are, but because people like that often can't hold jobs for any significant length of time). Don't take it personally, unfortunately there are a lot of nutty people in the world. Fortunately most people don't have to encounter them all too often!
